Federally indicted Charlotte city councilwoman to seek re-election
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Indicted Charlotte City Councilwoman Tiawanna Brown plans to seek re-election. Brown posted on Facebook she will officially file for her District Three seat next week.
Brown and her two daughters were federally indicted in May. They are accused of misusing COVID-era funding. Brown allegedly used $15,000 to throw a lavish birthday party for herself.
She previously spent several years in prison in the 90s for fraud.
