NAACP Convention highlights freedom, fairness and security

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – This year’s annual NAACP Convention is happening this week in Uptown. On Monday, NAACP officials joined union leaders in talking about freedom, fairness, and security. Those involved say they are trying to provide a voice for workers in the months leading up to Labor Day.

One speaker told the crowd, “Why? Because working people are under attack. Our jobs, contracts and workplace protections are all on the chopping blocks. Under this Trump Administration, our essential social services are being slashed to pay for the billionaires tax breaks.”

North Carolina is home to over 125,000 union members.
