Groundbreaking for Charlotte Fire Department’s newest fire station
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The city of Charlotte is getting a brand new fire station. Tuesday was the groundbreaking for Firehouse 46. It features three firetruck bays and 14,000 feet of space for firefighters. It’s located on Miranda Road in north Charlotte.
The city says the new station will help alleviate high call volume for other stations nearby. Charlotte City Councilman Malcolm Graham says, “It’s investing in public safety in our community, investing in infrastructure and the future of northwest Charlotte.”
The Charlotte Fire Department says they expect to have the station ready to go in about a year and a half.
