SALISBURY, NC – A man is in jail without bond charged with murder after a shooting victim died in Salisbury.
Police say 47-year-old Jamel Staton shot 45-year-old Cleveland Davis along East Liberty Street on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Officers found Davis lying in the street. Paramedics took him to the hospital where he died the next day.
Salisbury Police arrested Staton on Tuesday. He’s being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.
