CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The N.C. Department of Transportation will close Baucom Road at Mallard Creek Road on Monday, Nov. 27, as part of the Mallard Creek Extension Project.
The project includes widening existing Mallard Creek Road from two to four lanes between Harris Boulevard and Morris Estates Drive, and building a new alignment to the intersection of Sugar Creek Road and Graham Street.
While the closure is in place, crews will be grading the intersection, and will be working on the IBM Connector between Mallard Creek Road and IBM Drive. The closure is scheduled to last at least six months.
A detour will be posted utilizing Harrington Woods Road and Keaton Avenue to access both Harris Boulevard and Mallard Creek Road. Access to businesses will be maintained.
