YORK COUNTY, S.C. — SLED is conducting a death investigation of an inmate at the York County Detention Center.
An inmate reportedly notified a detention officer that Jonathan Morgan, 28, of Rock Hill, was breathing abnormally.
Officials say detention staff called a medical emergency and rendered aid to Morgan but he was pronounced dead.
Morgan was arrested in September and being held on charges of larceny, resisting police and furnishing contraband in a prison.
An autopsy will be performed on Morgan.Β No foul play is suspected at this time.
