Local parents arrested after their 8-month-old baby overdoses on drugs
BESSEMER CITY, N.C. – Two people are facing charges after police say their eight-month-old infant overdosed. Gaston County Police investigators say they were called to a home on Rural Retreat Road in Bessemer City last week and found the child unconscious and not breathing.
Now, parents 29-year-old Kayla Wilhelm and 33-year-old Bobby McKinney are facing charges for felony child abuse, along with several drug charges.
The infant survived, and is now recovering.
