Another candidate enters the race for Mecklenburg County Sheriff
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – There’s a new name in the race for Mecklenburg County Sheriff: retired Chief Deputy Rodney Collins announced his candidacy on Tuesday. Collins spent 30 years with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. He was in the Air Force before joining law enforcement.
Current Sheriff Garry McFadden has not announced whether he’ll seek re-election.
Other candidates include former detention Officer Antwain Nance and CMPD Sergeant Ricky Robbins.
