Original Story

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –CMPD’s Missing Persons Unit is requesting the public’s assistance in locating Megan Stack and her 8-year-old daughter, Ava Stack.

On Monday, December 4, 2017, police say Stack left her home on Cloister Drive around 1:30 p.m.  She then picked up her daughter from school and no one has seen them since.  There is some concern about their safety due to Stack’s emotional state and recent behavior, according to a news release.

Stack was last seen wearing a maroon jacket, pants and black boots.  She was driving a silver 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe with a paper tag with number 234.

CMPD says they applied for an Amber Alert in regards to Ava Stack, but were denied by the state due to the request “not meeting the restrictive criteria.” Police say they’re now applying for a Silver Alert based on Megan’s emotional state.

Anyone who sees or has information regarding Stack or her daughter, Ava, is asked to call 911 immediately.  In addition, you may also call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
