WAXHAW, N.C. — Drivers should expect traffic delays in Waxhaw at the intersection of NC-16 (Providence Road) and Pine Oak Road the week of August 11th, due to construction activity related to an intersection improvement project.
Drivers can expect flaggers onsite to manage traffic on Monday, Aug. 11, Wednesday, Aug. 13, and Friday, Aug. 15.
Crews will be preparing to convert the intersection to a right-in/right-out configuration as part of a long-term safety improvement in coordination with NCDOT and the Prescot Village development.
The intersection will not become a right-in/right-out configuration until a later date.
What Drivers Need to Know:
- Delays are expected, especially during peak travel times.
- Flaggers will be onsite to manage traffic on both Providence Road and Pine Oak Road.
- Work is weather-dependent and limited to the days listed. Any changes in the construction schedule will be shared online and on our social media pages.
Officials ask drivers to allow for extra travel time and to use caution in the work zone.
