Three People Face Underage Alcohol Charges In Fatal Accident That Killed Union County Teen

HARRISBURG, N.C. — Three people are facing charges in reference to a deadly accident in Union County that killed a 16-year-old girl.

Investigators say Kenya Derry, 19, and Alexis Plyler, 18, were charged with two counts each of aiding and abetting an underage person in the purchase of spirituous liquor, and one count each of purchasing spirituous liquor by someone under 21. Β 

Tristah Massey, 21, was also charged with aiding and abetting the purchase of alcohol for underage persons.

Agents with Alcohol Law Enforcement say Massey purchased a half-gallon of vodka from a Waxhaw ABC store. Β Investigators say the teens consumed the vodka prior to a crash that killed Autumn Plyler.

The driver of the vehicle, Kemthia Garlins, 20, has been charged with driving while intoxicated. Β ALE says the investigation is on-going and additional charges may be filed.
