Multiple businesses broken into at popular shopping center

CHARLOTTE, NC — New video shows a startling smash and grab that happened fast. Surveillance video shows two cars pull up next to the Dolce Lusso hair salon at 1:47 Saturday morning in the empty parking lot of the park road shopping center.

Two people get out of each car. One person then starts breaking the glass.

Emma Ballard is a Dolce Lusso. Ballard says what happened is a lot to process for her and other employees.

“It’s a lot to take in. I think for everyone going in the next morning, I think everybody was on edge,” explained Ballard.

In the video, the four people head right to the cash register, throwing it to the ground attempting to bust it open. When that fails, they then start grabbing products before running out and driving off. The whole thing took two minutes.

According to a police report, Dolce Lusso was one of four businesses hit that night. Bluemercury, Orange Theory and Bikesource were all broken into. Causing four-thousand dollars in damage to the glass.
