CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers have fired their communications coordinator following his comments on social media about the assassination of Charlie Kirk, according to a WCCB source.
The Panthers made a post on the social media platform X at 10am on September 11th addressing the matter:
The views expressed by our employees are their own and do not represent those of the Carolina Panthers. We do not condone violence of any kind. We are taking this matter very seriously and have accordingly addressed it with the individual.

A short time later, WCCB confirmed the Panthers fired the employee, Charlie Rock, due to his online remarks.
Kirk was assassinated while speaking at an event in Utah. The FBI released photos of a person of interest in the shooting Thursday morning.
