Wonderful week ahead
Outside of a stray shower Monday afternoon, we'll be hard-pressed to find any significant rain chances over the next five days.
Sunny skies and comfy highs return as we sail into the heart of October. Afternoon temperatures will top out in the upper 70s and lower 80s across the Piedmont and Foothills through the first three days of the workweek as the coastal low that plagued our weekend forecast ships off to the northeast. Outside of a stray shower this Monday afternoon, we’ll be hard-pressed to find any significant rain chances over the next five days.
Cooler air will begin filtering in from the northeast as a powerful ridge of high pressure sets up to our north by the end of the week. While it won’t feel like winter, below-average highs in the 60s and 70s return to the forecast by Thursday afternoon. Our next opportunity for rain comes this weekend as a weak cold front pushes into the Carolinas from the west. While rain chances don’t look especially strong, a few showers could make their way into the WCCB Charlotte viewing area between Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Despite the rain chances, highs will likely swell near 80Β° this coming weekend around the Metro.
