Suspect arrested in Indian Trail Taco Bell shooting

A man is facing charges after being accused of shooting and killing a Taco Bell employee in Indian Trail on Monday, according to the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a Taco Bell on U.S. 74 around 8:45 p.m. on Monday night. Upon arrival, deputies said they located an employee, identified as 23-year-old Dantreveion Hobbs, that was shot by an unknown suspect, who fled the scene in a vehicle.

Hobbs was pronounced dead at the scene. 

On Tuesday, deputies identified 22-year-old Gilecio Ritchie as the suspect and took him into custody at his home in Indian Trail. He has been charged with first degree murder and is being held without bond.
