UPDATE: Crews have fixed the water line break.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Crews with the Caldwell County Water Department are working to fix a major water line break at 2468 Collettsville Road.
Customers on Collettsville Road, Abington Road, as well as all side roads, will be without water until the break is fixed. Repairs are expected to take most of the day and possibly into the night.
The break is reportedly a 12-inch water line and it is believed to have burst due to the cold temperatures.
Crews are on site now and are having to use heavy equipment to dig out the line as it is laying in rock. Drivers should take care traveling in the area due to the large equipment and the water that is running across the road this morning.
