Two churches intentionally set on fire in Cleveland County

CASAR, N.C. — Two Cleveland County churches were intentionally set on fire Friday evening, according to authorities.

The fires were reportedly set between 9pm and 10pm on October 17th, according to the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.

Citizens quickly extinguished the flames before significant damage occurred, according to investigators.

The churches impacted were Tabernacle Baptist Church on Corinth Church Road and Calvary’s Cross Baptist Church on Mt. Zion Church Road.

The arsons are still under investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
