Infant Shot in West Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD is investigating a shooting that put a baby in the hospital. It happened Monday on Romare Bearden Drive at the Arbor Glen apartments.

The mother told police she was walking to her apartment with her four-month-old when someone fired a gun.

The infant was shot in the ankle. The mother was grazed by the bullet.

Both have non-life threatening injuries.

Right now there’s no word on a suspect or what led up the shooting.
