Two more oceanfront homes on North Carolina’s Outer Banks collapse

OUTER BANKS, N.C. — Two more oceanfront homes on North Carolina’s Outer Banks have collapsed into the Atlantic Ocean. These most recent collapses occurred Tuesday morning in Buxton.

In total, 24 homes have been lost to the surf along this fragile stretch of coastline since 2020.

Both houses were unoccupied at the time of the collapse.
