Prodigal sun returns, remains chilly through Halloweekend
Lows dip into the 20s and 30s across the board Saturday morning.
Happy Friday Eve! Mostly sunny skies make a triumphant return for many across the Piedmont and Foothills – and so do warmer afternoon temperatures. Expect highs in the 50s and 60s for this penultimate day of the workweek as we round into the holiday weekend, although northwesterly flow this Thursday afternoon will lead to some cloudy and soggy 40s in the High Country. Expect more of the same for your Halloween Friday after a chilly start in the 30s and 40s. A chill will run down your spine on Halloween night; temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s around 9 pm before the coldest air we’ve seen in over six months arrives as we wake up on Saturday. Lows dip into the 20s and 30s across the WCCB Charlotte viewing area to kick off the first day of November.
This weekend marks the first two days of November – and it looks lovely. The mainly sunny and cool trend continues through Sunday before more clouds build ahead of a budding storm system that sweeps across the Southeast. Models are split on exactly what we’ll see to kick off the first workweek of the new month; the American brings another 1-2″ across the Carolinas, while the Euro keeps rain chances isolated and ephemeral at best.
