Murder suspect from Craven County on the run

CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies in Craven County, North Carolina are looking for a man accused of killing his grandmother and attacking a Sheriff with a knife.
According to the Craven County Sheriff’s office, “On October 25, 2025, the Craven County Sheriff’s Office responded to 2010 N.C. 101 Highway Havelock, N.C. in reference to a structure fire and death investigation. Members with the Fire Department located Patricia Lopedote, 72, deceased inside the residence.”
The man wanted for murder was identified as 24-year-old Dominic Connelly.
On October 29, 2025, the Craven County Sheriff’s Office responded to Bojangles in Vanceboro, N.C. in reference to a possible sighting of Dominic Connelly.
Connelly was in the bathroom of Bojangles and used a knife to assault a Deputy Sheriff before fleeing on foot. The suspect was last seen wearing all dark clothing running towards Bailey Lane apartments located behind Bojangles.
