CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a 10-year-old was injured in a shooting in north Charlotte Sunday afternoon.
According to reports, the shooting happened in the 2000 block of Cairns Mill Court around 3:24 p.m., Sunday afternoon.
The CMPD says the child was shot in the abdomen and the shooting appears to be accidental.
The child was taken to the hospital for treatment for serious injuries. No arrests have been made at this time and the police are not looking for any other suspects.
