Suspect arrested in Monroe double homicide
MONROE, N.C. β Police in Monroe have taken a man into custody in connection to a double homicide overnight.
Around midnight on Friday, officers responded to an apartment off Nelda Road in Monroe for a welfare check. Upon arrival, police said they found 52-year-old Matthew Moody and 49-year-old James Wallace dead inside.
Following an investigation, police said they arrested 34-year-old Adam Mercado. He will be charged in connection to the murder of Moody and Wallace, authorities said.
