LANCASTER, SC — A 51-year-old man wanted in Rock Hill was arrested Monday evening in Lancaster County and charged with multiple drug violations.
James Brooks was wanted on a Failure to Return Rental Property warrant issued by a Rock Hill municipal judge Friday. Deputies say they spotted Brooks around 6pm and initially arrested him in relation to that outstanding warrant.
While searching his vehicle however, officials say they found a baggie containing crystal meth and a glass pipe in the center console.
Brooks was given a ticket for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and later charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine. Deputies say Brooks posted a $10,000 surety bond Tuesday in relation to the drug charge, and was released into the custody of Rock Hill Police on his outstanding warrant.
Brooks, a former Lancaster County School Board member, and a Fort Mill woman were arrested in Lancaster County back in November 2016 on multiple charges, including trafficking methamphetamine.
Deputies said the pair had hidden multiple drugs throughout a rental car, and were also carrying a loaded shotgun and driving with an open container when they were stopped.
