Iredell County Brothers Face Multiple Felony Charges For Breaking And Entering

STATESVILLE, NC — Two brothers have been arrested after a month long investigation into multiple home break-ins.

Wesley, 26, and Ashley Michael, 27, Pope are both facing multiple felony charges in connection to four home break-ins during the months of December and January.

During a break-in on Northfield Drive, deputies say the men stole roughly $15,000 worth of jewelry as well as several other items from inside the home. The victims at two Loggerhead Road homes reported similar items stolen. In those break-ins, deputies reported minimal evidence of forced entry, and said the suspects left behind very little evidence.

A break came when investigators managed to locate a Milwaukee hammer drill, which was stolen during the final break-in on Darty Lane, at a local pawn shop. From there, detectives were able to gather more evidence to charge the Pope brothers in connection to the crimes.

The brothers were both arrested Friday, January 19th. Ashley Michael was arrested in Iredell County, while Wesley was arrested by Conover Police during a misdemeanor larceny investigation.

Ashley is charged with four felony counts each of Breaking and Entering and Felony Larceny After Breaking and Entering. He was given a $25,500 secured bond.

Wesley is charged with four felony counts each of Breaking and Entering and Felony Larceny After Breaking and Entering, and one count of Obtaining Property by False Pretense. He was given a $180,000 secured bond on the Iredell County charges, and an additional $5,000 secured bond on the Conover charges.
