CMPD Arrests Suspects In Circle K Armed Robbery
CHARLOTTE, NC — The two men accused of armed robbery at a northeast Charlotte Circle K have been arrested.
Deondre Walker, 23, and Marlon Smith, 29, are both accused of robbing the store on Mallard Creek at Prosperity Church Road. On January 20, around 12:53am, police say they robbed the store armed with a handgun and knife, and then took off in a grey Mustang.
Police identified the two men during a traffic stop Friday based on witness descriptions. According to reports, officers noticed marijuana in the vehicle and conducted a search. Police say the weapons used in the robbery as well as cocaine were also found inside the car.
One of the other two passengers inside the car, Kenneth Armstrong, 20, was also charged with various crimes following the search.
Walker was charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, as well as Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving While License Revoked.
Smith was charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, as well as Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
Police say Kenneth Armstrong was not charged with the armed robbery, but he was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine.
The fourth passenger was not charged.
