Stolen Handguns, Bulletproof Vests Among Items Seized Following Chester County Car Chase

CHESTER COUNTY, SC — Troopers arrested three Charlotte residents and seized nine stolen handguns and two bulletproof vests after a high speed chase Friday morning.

The chase started around 6:55am near mile marker 68 on I-77. Troopers spotted a 2005 Chrysler 300 traveling 91mph and attempted to stop the vehicle.

The driver, Elantre Glenn took off in the northbound lanes, according to officials, and tried to escape. Troopers brought Glenn to a stop using a rolling roadblock, but say he hit two patrol cars while trying to escape.

Troopers managed to take control of the vehicle after breaking a window using batons.

Elantre Glenn, Morgan Fowler, and Santario Washington were all placed under arrest. Troopers say they seized nine stolen handguns, two bulletproof vests, and several other stolen items from the car.

Glenn is currently charged with Failure To Stop For A Blue Light. Charges have not yet been released for Fowler and Washington.

The SCHP says they’re working with Columbia Police to investigate the stolen property.
