MAIDEN, N.C. — Investigators say a South Carolina man has been arrested for using a forged check to purchase a vehicle in Maiden.
Detectives say Bobby Adams of Lancaster, South Carolina purchased a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe from a car shop on East Highway 150 in Maiden.
On January 8th, investigators say the company was notified by their bank that the check Adams used to purchase the vehicle was worthless.
Adams was arrested and charged with obtaining property by false pretense, uttering a forged instrument and possession of a counterfeit instrument. The vehicle was recovered and returned to the company.
