One Dead After Shooting In North Charlotte *UPDATE

UPDATE: Police have identified the victim as Jamarcus Walker, 23.

Police are still on scene as the investigation into this fatal shooting continues.

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are investigating a shooting on Botany Street this morning that has left one man dead.

The shooting happened just before 5AM on Botany Street in North Charlotte near Lasalle Street. Police say it appears that the victim was driving down Botany Street when another vehicle pulled up beside him and began shooting. The victim then fled the vehicle, and collapsed behind a nearby residence. Medic pronounced him dead on the scene.
