HOLLYWOOD, CA– Kim Kardashian is facing significant backlash from PETA after revealing she gifted each of her four children a Pomeranian puppy for Christmas. The animal rights organization, and many social media users, have condemned the decision, arguing it sends the wrong message amid a “homeless puppy crisis”.
The controversy began when Kardashian shared a photo on her Instagram Stories of the four small dogs, captioning it, “Each kid got a puppy”. In response, PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk issued a sharp statement: βPuppies are not plushies, and itβs a damn shame that Kim missed the chance to be a spokesperson for shelter pups”.
