Gun Owner Gives Up Assault Rifle After Florida School Shooting
FORT LAUDERDALE, F.L. — Ben Dickmann decided to give up his AR-57 following a school shooting in Florida that killed 17 people.
Dickmann, who lives in Fort Lauderdale, posted about giving up his assault rifle on Facebook and the post has gone viral.
He says he wants to be the change he wants to see in the world. He goes on to say, “I am putting my money where my mouth is.”
Dickmann says he is a highly trained gun owner but does not need the rifle and chose to give it up instead of selling the weapon. Dickmann surrendered the assault rifle to the Broward Sheriff.
