CHARLOTTE, NC — A 15-year-old juvenile has been charged in connection to an armed robbery Wednesday morning near East Mecklenburg High School.
CMPD says the victim reported the incident around 8:11am. The victim told police two suspects armed with a handgun attacked him in a wooded area across from the high school and took his money. The suspects then took off on foot.
The school was placed on lockdown while officers searched the area. Police say the suspects were quickly found walking along Wallace Road, and taken into custody.
The suspects had ditched the gun by the time of their arrest, but officials say K-9 units were able to locate it.
One of the juvenile suspects was released after investigators say it was determined that he wasn’t involved. The other suspect was charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, Possession of a Firearm with Defaced Serial Numbers, and Possession of Marijuana.
