5 displaced, dog rescued in west Charlotte house fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A dog was rescued from a house fire as crews worked in below freezing conditions to put it out.Β 

The fire broke out just before 4:30 a.m. Friday morning on Claremont Road in west Charlotte.

Five people have to find a new place to stay after heavy smoke and flames caused substantial damage to the home.

No one was hurt, but that property damage is estimated at about $150,000.
