Remains Of Man Missing Since 1972 Found In Caldwell County Lake

CALDWELL COUNTY, NC– Deputies say they found the remains of a man who has been missing since the 1970s inside a car in Lake Rhodiss Tuesday.

Officials believe the 1968 Pontiac Catalina belonged to Amos Shook.  He was reported missing on February 19, 1972.

Authorities do not believe foul play is suspected.

Investigators believe they will find more information once they look through the vehicle that has been submerged in 30 feet of water for the past 40 years.

The remains of the body have been sent to medical examiners for an autopsy.
