Couch Chat: Arming Teachers
You heard it in the top 5 stories at 8… He wants to give the teachers and staff who volunteer to be armed in schools lots of training. Those programs would come from local law enforcement agencies. A study done by the Washington Post says, arming 20% of teachers would cost at least 251 million dollars and go exceed 1 billion.
The President of the National Education Association says, students need more books, art and music programs, nurses and school counselors instead of guns in the classroom. A new survey released this year says, North Carolina is failing it’s students… It’s public education score puts it 40th out of the 50 states. The state got a ‘D’ for school funding and is 45th in the nation for it’s school fiance grade.
Is this money being spent the right way?
