The Edge: Southwest Airlines called out for new “fatphobic” policy

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Southwest Airlines has officially ended its 53-year tradition of open seating. The airline is rolling out a controversial policy change that will increase ticket costs for some plus-size passengers.

The double-seat purchase policy forces passengers who “encroach upon the neighboring seat” to purchase an additional ticket.

Now some online are slamming southwest airlines for a quote “fatphobic” policy.
