CMPD Identifies Victim Of West Charlotte Overnight Shooting

The Latest:

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Stephen Giles.

No arrests have been made and the case is still under investigation.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives with the CMPD’s Homicide Unit are conducting an investigation in the 300 block of Jones Street in the Metro Division.

Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service on Jones Street. Upon arrival they located a male victim with apparent gunshot wounds. The male was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic.

Homicide Detectives are currently canvassing the area to determine whether there are any witnesses to this incident.

This is still an ongoing, active investigation. As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.
