Driver Killed In Rock Hill Accident, Passenger Seriously Injured

ROCK HILL, SC –Police say the driver of a 2014 Toyota Camry was killed Friday after turning out in front of a box truck on Heckle Boulevard.

Around 1pm, officials say the Camry was hit by a 2017 Isuzu NPR box truck while making a left turn out of the QuickTrip parking lot at the corner of Heckle Blvd and S. Cherry Road. Investigators say the Camry failed to yield the right of way.

The Camry’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was taken Piedmont Medical Center with life threatening injuries, and then transferred to CMC.

The driver and passenger in the box truck were not injured in the collision.

Police say all parties were seatbelted at the time of the accident, and no charges have been filed at this time.

The driver’s name has not yet been released.
