CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a driver has been arrested following a serious crash in southeast Charlotte.
The crash happened on April 2nd just before 11pm. Investigators say Casey Nash was driving over 100mph when he rear-ended a 2017 Nissan Rogue.
Nash’s vehicle overturned and the Nissan traveled off the road and went airborne for a short distance, according to a news release.
Four people in the Nissan and Nash were all taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
Police say the preliminary investigation revealed that Nash was impaired by alcohol and was traveling over 100mph when his vehicle struck the Nissan.
Nash was arrested on April 9th after he was released from the hospital. He has been charged with four counts of felony serious injury to vehicle, four counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, driving while impaired, speeding, reckless driving and driving with no operator’s license.
The victims in this case are continuing to recover from their injuries.
