Winter’s grasp briefly loosens early next week
Tracking a temperature roller coaster
If youβre tired of the brutal cold, then youβre in for at least a brief treat, but we have to get through a couple more cold days. Sunday is one of those cold days as most of us wake up with temperatures in the low 20s and only warming into the low 40s across the Piedmont and Foothills. The High Country will wake up to near single digit temperatures and highs close to freezing. I am also watching the chance of a few snow showers that may briefly try to work through the northern part of the viewing area tomorrow during the late morning hours. Itβs not a guarantee, and there would be no impact to travel if it occurs.
By Monday we start the warmer trend with highs reaching up into the 50s for Piedmont with mostly sunny skies. Things get even better on Tuesday as afternoon highs find the mid to upper 60s for the first time since January 11th! Make sure to get outside and enjoy these much warmer temperatures, because it may not last long. Rain tries to make a return to the area with scattered showers on Wednesday and temperatures likely back down to the upper 50s. This brings us back to the colder weather we have come accustomed to over the past several weeks.
From Thursday on afternoon highs go back below average with the chance for some precipitation next weekend. Itβs too soon for specifics on that, but the WCCB weather team will keep you posted!
