STATESVILLE, N.C. — Detectives say they arrested a Statesville man following a two-month undercover drug operation.
Sheriff Campbell says the department received complaints from concerned citizens in reference to drug activity occurring in the area of Park Street and Stockton Street. The information involved heavy vehicle traffic at all times of the night and day coming to and from the apartment complex, according to a news release.
Narcotics detectives began conducting surveillance in the area and say the drug activity was coming from Brandon Gettys’ apartment.
Several undercover purchases of heroin were made over the last several months. A search warrant was executed and detectives reportedly recovered black tar heroin, Hydrocodone pills, drug paraphernalia and a loaded handgun.
Gettys was charged with felony trafficking opiates, felony possession with the intent to sell or deliver heroin and felony maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance.
