Man arrested for assault at mall in Concord

CONCORD, N.C. – A man has been arrested and charged for an assault at Carolina Mall in Concord.

Police say 38-year-old Mohamed Adams Jr. attacked a man with a baseball bat on Saturday.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was released later the same day.

Police also say they don’t believe this was a random attack, and that Adams targeted the victim who is a co-worker of his ex-girlfriend.

He is charged with one count of assault inflicting serious bodily injury and currently being held in the Cabarrus County Jail.
