CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A new bill aims to let towns like Matthews and Mint Hill run their own charter schools… but school board members say House Bill 514 is bad for students.

They argue it could raise taxes, increase segregation and force kids out of good schools.

Terrance talked with CMS superintendent, Dr. Clayton Wilcox, about the plan moving forward, and the budget negotiations.
