UNION COUNTY, N.C. — The Union County Sheriff’s Office received a call Thursday morning involving a threat to the safety and security of the courthouse.
Due to the threat, both the courthouse and the Government Center were evacuated.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, completed its investigation related to the reported threat and states, “no items or circumstances were discovered that would pose a risk to the public.” The courthouse was able to reopen normal operations at 11:20 a.m.
