Spring put on pause to start the week

Tracking another temperature drop

The nicest day in a while is coming to a close as cloud cover builds back into the region. If you enjoyed today’s well above average temperatures, you’ll love the 7-day forecast, but first we have to get through Monday. Tonight, winds shift out of the NE and the winter feels once again work in for our Monday. Clouds, isolated showers, and temperatures mostly in the 40s will dominate our Monday forecast. While it won’t be a washout, I’d keep the rain jacket handy as fog and mist will be common for many. The rain will be even colder in the High Country, where temperatures will not be far above freezing. We could even see isolated freezing rain, but travel impacts look to be next to none.

By Tuesday, we begin the process of slowly getting back to spring. With that said, it will likely remain cloudy and chilly, but there is a chance clouds begin to burn off by the evening. If they don’t burn off Tuesday, then they are sure to on Wednesday as spring fever takes over. Wednesday temperatures soar into the 70s with increasing sun. The warmer temperatures don’t look to be in any hurry to leave either.

The second half of the week ahead will have temperatures nearly 20 degrees above average! In fact, we will be flirting with the 80s by next weekend. This could put some record highs in jeopardy and plant life is likely to get excited. So don’t be surprised if your allergies start to flare up a bit by the end of the week. I will also caution you not to get too excited about planting yet as we often get frosts and freezes late into March. Make sure to get out there and enjoy the second half of the week, and stick with the WCCB weather team for the latest!
