Matthews Police searching for armed man after chase was called off due to safety concerns

MATTHEWS, N.C. – Matthews Police are searching for 24-year-old Alisjah McGriff.

Officers say he threatened someone with a gun at the Inn Town Suites on East Independence Boulevard late Sunday night during an argument in the motel’s laundry room. That led to a police chase, which was later called off due to safety concerns.
