Silfab Solar resumes assembly operations Monday night after assessment by EPA and DES

FORT MILL, S.C. – After a visit Monday from the EPA and South Carolina’s Department of Environmental Services, Silfab Solar says they’ve got the green light to resume production at their York County Plant. This comes after two minor chemical spills last week.

Students at nearby Flint Hill Elementary were out of class Thursday and Friday as a precaution. Now, environmental officials have again confirmed there is no risk to the community or employees at the Silfab plant. Flint Hill Elementary was back open to students on Monday, but nearly 100 of the 803 students were absent.
