CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte based tech firm announced it will be hiring more than 600 employees and will be building a new 115,000 square foot corporate center near the NC Music Factory, near Uptown Charlotte. The average salary is $52,000 a year.
AvidXchange currently has approximately 300 employees that work out of an office space at the Metropolitan. The company will invest more than $21.4 million in Mecklenburg County by the end of 2018.
“We really think we can be the catalyst to bring more technology, more software companies to Charlotte and create that Silicon of the South,” said CEO Michael Praeger.
AvidXchange will receive up to $7.5 million in state incentives if it meets its job goals. The city and county are kicking in a little more than $1 million in incentives.
AvidXchange was founded in 2000 in Charlotte. The company helps small to medium-sized businesses automate their accounts payable process.
