WAXHAW, N.C. – A husband and wife are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Waxhaw on Thursday, according to the Waxhaw Police Department.
Around 4:20 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a home on Prescott Glen Parkway near Waxhaw-Marvin Road.
Upon arrival, officers found 49-year-old Inol Toussaint dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and his wife, 42-year-old Eusther Toussaint, dead inside the home.
Police said Inol killed his wife inside the home and then took his own life in the backyard.
“We are heartbroken by this tragic act of domestic violence that has deeply impacted our community. We ask everyone to keep the victim’s family and loved ones involved in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time,” said Police Chief Dexter Wilson. “We want our community to know that help and resources are available for anyone experiencing domestic violence, and we encourage those who need support to reach out.”
An autopsy is scheduled to determine the causes of death. Detectives said it’s an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public. This incident is still under investigation.
