Police Seek South Charlotte Armed Robbery, Shooting Suspect
CHARLOTTE, NC — Police are looking for the suspect who robbed a south Charlotte Citgo gas station late Wednesday night and shot the clerk.
The crime occurred around 11:17pm at the Citgo on South Boulevard at Emerywood Drive. Police say they found the clerk inside the store with a gunshot wound when they arrived. He was taken to CMC with serious injuries.
The clerk told police he was locking up the store when the suspect approached him and forced him back inside. Officials say the suspect took property and then shot the clerk while leaving the store.
Police say the suspect also fired an additional shot at a passing vehicle as he left. No one in that vehicle was injured.
The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black ski mask, black long sleeve shirt, and black pants.
